Privacy policy

This policy explains what information VidLyft collects and how it is used. VidLyft is a Chrome extension with a supporting web service.

Information we collect

• Google account basics. When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address and profile picture. We use them only to identify your account and plan. We do not request access to your YouTube account, videos, analytics or any other Google data.
• Content you send to AI features. When you use an AI feature, the text or thumbnail you choose (for example a draft title, description, notes or a thumbnail image) is sent to our service and processed by our AI provider, Anthropic, to generate the result. We do not use it to train AI models.
• Usage counts. We count how many AI requests you make each day to apply plan limits. Daily counters are deleted automatically after 48 hours.
• Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number; we store only your Stripe customer ID and subscription status.
• Data stored in your browser. Settings, your niche, tracked channels, cached YouTube statistics and chat history are stored locally in your browser and are not sent to us except as part of an AI request you make.

Public YouTube data

The extension reads publicly available YouTube pages in your browser (such as view counts and upload dates) to show statistics. This data is not linked to your identity.

How we use information

Only to provide VidLyft: signing you in, applying plan limits, processing subscriptions, and producing the AI results you ask for. We do not sell your information and do not use it for advertising.

Sharing

We share information only with the service providers needed to run VidLyft: Cloudflare (hosting), Anthropic (AI processing) and Stripe (payments), or when required by law.

Google user data

VidLyft's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Retention and deletion

Account records are kept while you use VidLyft. To delete your account and associated data, email support@vidlyft.com. Removing the extension deletes all locally stored data.

Children

VidLyft is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
